Single Cup Manual Coffee Maker without Paper Filters

QUESTION:

I see you have a cone type single cup manual coffee maker with a built in filter so you don't have to buy paper filters. I can't find it on your site. Please help.

I am packing in the mountains and don't want to take the paper filters since you have to pack in on horseback and take out all your trash.

Thank you.

Janie Mason

ANSWER:

Sounds like a wonderful trip! My advice would be to take a French Press travel mug. Just take the mug and a bag or tin of ground coffee.

When you want some coffee, put some ground coffee in the mug, pour in the hot water, put the lid on and then, after about three minutes, push down the plunger.

You then use the "coffee maker" as your coffee mug. And when you're finished, take out the plunger and shake out the wet coffee grinds.

Advantages? No paper filters required. And you minimize washing up and extra items to take with you, because you make the coffee in your "coffee mug".

We have a page on French Press travel mugs here...
