The SpoonCup coffee stirrer thingie...

Disposible coffee stirrer
This unusual looking disposable coffee cup, along with the lid and orange plastic stirrer included, was mailed to us by the manufacturers.
A sample, for our reviewing pleasure.
In the accompanying letter the manufacturer thanked us for dropping by their booth at a recent packaging conference. That was a little weird, as we have never been to a packaging conference.
Anyway, if you own a coffee shop, these guys want you to use their disposable cups, with lid and stirrer included.
The trouble is, although I appreciate free samples most of the time, I can’t make head or tail of this device.
Here is how I understand it...
I pour coffee in the cup, or maybe the barista does it for me. Then I wander over to add milk or cream and some sugar. Once I have done that, I don’t grab a spoon or stir-stick to stir my brew. Instead, I attach this weird orange thing to the lid, then place the lid on my coffee cup, and finally turn a tiny little handle at the top.
I want to be nice to the people who sent me this thing. But...I see no point in this. It looks like just another way to add plastic to my local landfill. What’s wrong with using a spoon or stir-stick?
If the flavour of my coffee depended on continuous stirring, after I left the coffee shop, this would be a fantastic idea.
But I only have to stir my brew once.
Sorry, but I don't think this is a good idea at all.
