Which is the best coffee maker with a burr grinder?

by gordon

QUESTION:

Opinions appreciated on which model to buy when you are looking for the best all around coffee maker with a burr grinder....I have read a lot of negative comments re:lukewarm temps, coffee grinds spilling, etc...Any suggestions?

ANSWER:

The only grind and brew coffee maker we can definitively recommend is the Melitta MEMB1B Mill & Brew 10-Cup Coffeemaker.

This is one of the brewers we use, and we have been using it for years without any problems. But, of course, it has a blade grinder, not a burr grinder.

Based on a little research, one of the most reliable grind and brew coffee maker with a conical burr grinder is the Krups KM7000 Grind-and-Brew.

Beyond that, all I can suggest is that you continue your research online, and keep an eye on customer ratings and feedback.

One thing about customer feedback on web sites: Keep in mind that people who have a problem with their purchase are a LOT more likely to post comments. People who are happy with what they bought post feedback much less frequently.
