Hourglass Cold Brew Coffee Maker

Hourglass Cold Brew Coffee System

Hourglass Cold Brew Coffee System

I suffer from acid reflux and had to stop drinking coffee for awhile until I discovered cold brew coffee. I just found a new one that is much easier to use call The Hourglass. In addition to the great low acid coffee I also like that it is made from BPA free plastic, many coffee makers are not. It is completely portable too since it uses no electricity so we take it camping too.

why?

why buy this when you can make cold brew with just a paper filter, freshly ground coffee, water and a coffee pot?

No Mess!
by: Anonymous

If you've ever tried making cold brew at home with cheesecloth etc. it's MESSY. The Hourglass has no mess at all, ever. It's the only method to cold brew at home that is absolutely spill proof.

never tried this, would like to...

forget using paper or cheesecloth....just get an affordable french press, add grounds and fresh water, soak overnight, press and store. clean, easy, tasty.

I Like This Maker
by: Molly

I tried the french press method to cold brew but I ended up buying this hourglass maker because it won't break or spill and I travel a lot so need something that is really portable. I really like this maker and I have to drink cold brew because I need low acid coffee.

make cold brew with no fancy equipment!

Buy these things called T-Sacs, they are meant for brewing tea, but work great for cold brew... get large ones, Size 4. They are like large tea bags. Put your grounds in the T-Sacs (coffee should be loose in the sac), tie a knot in the top, add to container of cold water, and there you have it. If you make a lot of cold brew, use more of the T-Sacs. Wait the 12 hours or so and then toss the T-Sacs. No cheese cloth, no mess. I don't work for T-Sac, I own 2 cafes, and this is how I make cold brew at home. In our cafes, we use commercial filter bags from Toddy. If you need to make a lot of cold brew. say by the gallons for a party, their filters are the right size.
