Cut the cost of making espresso with your Nespresso machine by 30%.

First, a big thank-you to the folks at Gourmesso for sending us a selection of their espresso pods.

These are designed specifically to be used in the Original Line of Nespresso machines.

Why did I want to try the Gourmesso capsules? Simple reason really. They cost 30% less than the capsules purchased through Nespresso.

That’s a big deal because price has always been an issue for me with all single serve brewing systems. It’s not that I’m cheap. I just don’t like paying way over the odds for my coffee.

Whether you are brewing regular coffee with a Keurig or an espresso with a Nespresso machine, you’re always paying much too much for each cup compared to when you use a regular coffee brewer or espresso machine.

That’s why third party vendors now sell their own K-Cups for Keurig brewers. And that’s why Gourmesso has this line of capsules for Nespresso.

The big question, of course, is whether the lower price comes with a reduction in quality and taste.

I have tried a few of the Gourmesso drinks, comparing them with the equivalent Nespresso capsules, and haven’t found any difference in quality. The Gourmesso espresso doesn’t taste exactly the same, but they do taste just as good.

Also, they have created arrange of capsules to ensure you have the same choices and enjoy the same experience as you do with the Nespresso capsules.

You get a variety of straight espresso capsules, plus flavored capsules, plus capsules for making Lungo shots. Lungo shots are long shots of espresso, where twice the volume of water is pushed through the capsule.

I know there are a lot of Nespresso fans out there. The Nespresso machines are very nicely designed, have a very small footprint on your countertop, and make a shot of espresso in under 30 seconds. What’s not to like?

Yes, they are espresso machines, and don’t make regular coffee. But you can use them to make an Americano, which is pretty close to regular coffee.

If you have a Nespresso machine, or plan to get one, you may want to check out the Gourmesso capsules as an alternative to the ones sold by Nespresso.

Over the course of a month or a year, that 30% price difference can add up to a lot.
