QUESTION:

I've had one for about 8 years and love it. Sadly it broke down a few days ago-and I can't find it on the Melitta website. Any ideas where I can find another one?


ANSWER:

If you are talking about the Melitta MEMB1B Mill & Brew 10-Cup Coffeemaker, sadly it is no longer available.

We had one too. After a couple of years the plastic catch that holds the lid on the grinding chamber broke, and I ended up keeping it closed with a couple of Velcro strips. Well, it worked OK, but was pretty ugly. : )

If you want to get a new brewer that also grinds and brews, we have put together a list of mill and brew coffee makers available through Amazon.

I love my Melitta Mill and Brew! I would love to have any parts you have left, and will be happy to pay shipping. My lid catch broke a long time ago, but we put a weight on it, and it works fine. The mesh on the basket leaks a little bit of grounds, so the basket is something I really need.

I have used Mellita 10 cups Mill and Brew Coffee maker available. ($20 + shipping) It is used,but still works. Carafe is great, no cracks or chips. Basket and lid switch are damaged (must hold mill lid down while operating. Basket mash has couple small rips, carafe lid is discolored from coffee use. I purchased Bonavita coffee maker so I do not need it.

Regarding my Nov 15, 2015 comment, I've sent the carafe and the mill basket off to new homes. I still have the housing assembly piece (where you put the mill basket), and in terms of the working parts (except for the pump), the grinder motor still works as does the clock & timer.

As many others have reported, the locking tab on our much loved Melitta Mill & Brew snapped off many years ago. We replaced it with a Cuisinart, which I HATED. My husband discovered the hold-it-together-with-rubber-bands hack and that worked until the pump went out a couple of weeks ago. I replaced it with a Black and Decker, which is bigger, but it's fine.

So - the housing assembly (where you put the basket grinder) is fine, the basket filter/grinder is okay, the carafe is in good shape, the grinder still works as does the clock & timer. If you want to buy any or all of these parts, contact me @ lynnf.commerce at gmail dot com.

THE LOCKING TAB IS BROKEN, THE PUMP DOESN'T WORK AND NEITHER DOES THE WARMING PLATE.

My Mill & Grind still works fine besides some cosmetic flaws, but now there is a hole in the filter basket letting grounds through. What part of your grinder basket broke? Mine developed a tear in the metal filter, allowing grounds into the carafe. My temporary workaround is to use paper filters, though this prevents me from using whole beans.

I have a nearly new Melitta Mill & Brew MEMB10T 10 cup maker with insulated stainless carafe. I had barely used it when the on/off switch stopped working. The mill worked, all lights/buttons appear to work except the on/off switch. This may be an easy fix. I stored it at the time and decided to just let someone else deal with the problem. So, I will gladly sell to someone as is who may need all the parts. The latched top is like new. Basket intact. Carafe like new. Contact me at ccthames@att.net with offer.

Unfortunately, the plastic lid clasp is the weak link. I hold my down with a coffee cup which actually has a positive outcome! The cup is heated while the coffee is grinding and brewing.

I have purchased two of the coffee pots recently, and expect them any day. I have purchased several extra parts from Melitta. Try emailing them. They may only have white parts, but big deal, this is a kick ass coffee pot. I have two, one where I camp up North, one at my home. Love this coffee pot. The second one came from a thrift store for $7.00 - obviously didn't know what they had, I hope to find more.
