I won this beautiful coffee mug at one of my agency's workshops.
Nothing makes a great cup of coffee taste good like having a beautiful cup to drink it out of!

Designed by astronaut Donald Pettit, this mug provides an alternative for anyone in space who gets fed up with drinking coffee from an aluminum bag. Apparently it works by using the properties of surface tension.
I don't see myself needing this coffee cup any time soon, but it certainly looks interesting.

While on a train trip around majestic Switzerland, we had a few hours to kill in Bellinzona. After a hike up to the to one of the 3 Castles, a tour of the centrum plaza, and a bit of window-shopping, I was ready for a treat. And what a treat! The only coffee shop that was open was one in the railroad station, but they made one of the best cappuccinos I have ever savored! No fancy designs on the foam, but served in a porcelain cup as it should be, hot as it should be, and downright heavenly!

One day at our home office I realized that I had collected several different coffee cups left by our customers--I grouped them and added my own personal favorite (I'm not telling!) and snapped this shot. Would coffee by any other name still be coffee?!

As I was walking through one of the many, many gift shops in Disney World, I was surprised to see this box of three coffees. I can’t say I have ever associated Disney with coffee. And other than this one package, I didn’t find any other coffee-related items. (There wasn’t even any coffee in our resort hotel room.)
I guess when you have a brand name as strong as Disney, you can connect it with just about anything.
Anyway, now I have taken the photo I will open the package and try the coffees.

On a recent trip to Disney World we suspected that they might not have a coffee maker in the hotel room. And if they did, we were pretty certain the quality of the brew would be disappointing.
So we packed out own emergency coffee-making kit, comprising our trusty Aeropress coffee maker, with filter papers. Plus sugar, two mugs and a tin of coffee. Not shown in the photo is the small kettle we also packed.
That might look like a lot to pack, and a lot of trouble. But it was well worth it, with the coffee we made each morning being by far the best brew of the day.
You can get the AeroPress Coffee and Espresso Maker at Amazon.

A coffee plant basks in the sunlight at a Chicago Coffee Roasting Facility, where we had a fantastic tour--first the bud, then the bean, then the brew, then the bag! (to take home all our goodies)
