Help with Keurig 2.0 and shipping disc error.

Keurig 2.0 in box

Keurig 2.0 in box

QUESTION:

I got a Keurig 2.0 and out of the box removed the disk before I plugged it in. I then set it up and now am getting "remove the shipping disc" which is no longer in there.

When i push next I get the heating thing for a couple of seconds and then it goes back to "remove the shipping disc". I unplugged, put the disc back, plugged in, put water back and then removed disc but now message wont go away and I get nowhere.

I tried removing everything that is removable and putting back together, unplugged and replugged, put k-cup in it and everything and the "remove the shipping disc" message will not go away. Anyone have any suggestions other than returning it?

It was actually a Kerig replacement system from the company for my old one that broke after 16 months. I am very frustrated.

ANSWER:

I’m afraid I don’t have an answer for you, as I don’t have that model.

But I’m putting your question out here, in case another of our readers has faced and overcome the same problem.

Failing that, you can always call Keurig customer service. Although, as this is already a replacement machine, you’re probably pretty sick of that!

It’s unfortunate, but I have been hearing about a lot of problems with the Keurig 2.0. You’d think with all their years of experience with K-Cup machines they would have ironed out the wrinkle by now. But apparently not.

Good luck!

The Tapping On The Sides Works ...
by: Anonymous

Same as everyone else ... that continue screen is super frustrating! The tapping on the left side worked ... had to do it a few times ... with a little force ... Fonzie style ... lol
The repeated clicking of the continue screen was not doing it even despite unplugging and opening the lid up and down.
So ... tapping with authority worked ...
Hope you can get it working, too!

Shipping disc error
by: Anonymous

Mine did this but ithink it was confused the water filter was not soaked or rinsed properly so it could not suck water from reservoir properly and the machine just tweaked out, I removed the filter and Bam it worked fine rinsed filter for five more minutes and it worked with filter also. It detected a problem with shipping disc in reality it was the filter or water reserve

DO NOT BUY

Thankfully, we did not actually spend money on this POS. I, too, held down thensilver handle andnthe kcup button, then press continued. Now this peice of plastic is stuck on "pre heat" and thats it. Will never think avout buying a keurig again.

well, the instructions did not include this!

even customer service could not help with this one! how stupid! I finally noticed a continue slot and pressed it. The screen changed and I could brew coffee. Needless to say, I am not impressed with customer service by this company.

Push the top inwards while pressing continue

Hi,

I pushed the top of it inwards and pressed continue and it worked. Thank goodness! I was getting mad.

I hope that works for the rest of you!

Keep pressing "continue"
by: Anonymous

Got it as a gift for Christmas, finally unbox it. Same issue with the error after removing the shipping disc and trying it over and over with no luck. Until I came across a comment that said "keep "pressing continue" and finally it bypass that stupid error and started preheating.

Awful
by: Ann

I have model 400 with the same problem and keurig's 1-800 number was NO HELP. The guy had me doing the exact steps that I had been doing...genius !!! Because the machine was past warranty - my fault for just unpacking it ... they wouldn't replace it. He offered me a new one for 30% off !!! No thanks !!!! The KEURIG COMPANY and their workmanship is very disappointing.

K-Cup Brewer remove disk error and customer support
by: Anonymous

To add to this stream - like everyone else on here, I just got my new 2.0. Boy were we excited...a nice rainy afternoon, nothing like a cup of coffee...then the dreaded disk error. Tried the gentle taps..that didn't work. So called Keurig customer support and spoke to Jennifer. Ha..what a joke. Had to give them my email address and of course couldn't find my account, so asked a simple question..."Jennifer, have YOU solved this customer problem before". She dutifully went back to her script..so i had to interrupt her twice before she said I will transfer you to a department that can help you. Now I have been on hold for 10 minutes listening to music i detest....another couple minutes and I will hang up, hit send on this rant and box the stupid machine up and return it.

Fix for remove shipping disk
by: Anonymous

We had the same problem, brand new out of the box, plugged it in and it says "before we begin, raise lid and remove shipping disk". Tried unplugging it , pressing continue button, which disappears. I tapped it lightly on the sides and top and viola it started working. Hope this helps.

Called keurig because we were getting the same error. They said there was no getting around it and it was a faulty sensor. They are shipping us a replacement.

It would be nice if the company would post here on a solution to this issue. Im sure it is ongoing with there being so many of the same question.
